As part of the strategic objective of the ILO to promote full and productive employment, the Employment Policy and Analysis Programme (EPAP) supports the capacity of governments, social partners and other stakeholders to design, implement and analyse effective employment and skills development policies and programmes. EPAP’s training programme offers, knowledge-sharing and other capacity-building activities that cover a range of employment-related topics such as labour market information systems, techniques for assessing the employment impact of economic policy and investment choices, the role of active labour market policies, skills development and technical vocational education and training, and the functioning of labour market institutions. The programme handles a range of activities, including master’s programmes, academies, training courses, knowledge-sharing events, experts meetings and conferences.

Functional responsibilities:


By the end of the internship, the intern will have:

  •  acquired knowledge in adult education;  
  •  acquired knowledge in training manual preparation and organization of training activities;
  •  been exposed to ILO and ITC-ILO core values and principles and day-to-day work;
  •  improved skills in file and client database management;
  • forged networks with professionals from ITC-ILO, ILO and other international organizations;  academic and research institutions; and other ITC-ILO interns.  


  • Undertake and summarize literature review and case-studies to contribute for the Academy on Skills Development;
  • Assist with logistical and technical support during the delivery of training activities on: (i) Academy on skills development; and on (ii) Carreer guidance policy and practice;
  • Assist in updating and expansion of promotional database; and
  • Perform other tasks as may be requested by the Supervisor.

Qualifications required:


Applicants must be enrolled on a graduate or postgraduate course or have recently completed graduate or postgraduate studies (maximum 6 months earlier) in: Economics, Social Sciences, International Relations, International Development or related discipline.


French: excellent command, oral & written

English: good command

Language skills in Arabic would be considered an asset 

IT Skills

Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Internet, E-mail

Knowledge in contents management (Plone, Moodle) would be considered  an asset 

Other Skills

-          Communication skills, intercultural competence;

-          Good organizational and coordination skills;

-          Pro-activity and self-management capacity;

-          Capacity to understand and to independently carry out complex assignments;

-          A positive mind-set and an openness to learn new things;

-          Interest in the field of Education, Vocational Training and Labour Market / Employment Policies;

Facilitation, presentation and /or teaching skills would be considered an asset.
