Functional responsibilities:

Learning Objectives:

  • Increased understanding of ILO objectives and involvement in the application of ILO policies, standards and programmes as well as the initiatives related to the ILO centenary;
  • Increased knowledge on the mandate and the functioning of the ITC-ILO and the Programme for Workers’ Activities;
  • Improved understanding of labour movement-related issues with primary focus on the listed topics:
  1. future of work (technology, employment, governance…),
  2. youth employment and empowement of youth,
  3. industrial relations and social dialogue and
  4. trade unions and sustainable development (how to engage with UN agenda 2030).
  • Boost the young professional’s technical skill on the above issues, including research and training skills;
  • Becoming familiar with the e-campus and its support to the training and learning activities;
  • Becoming familiar with the learning cycle from the needs assessment and analysis of the target group to the design of the training, implementation, evaluation and follow up) .

Terms of Reference:

 The intern's  tasks during the internship will consist of the following:

  •  Contribute to the target group analysis, design and implementation of training activities by doing relevant desk research, on-line surveys, interaction with the participants on selected topics via the e-campus (education platform of the ITC-ILO);
  • Collect, select and combine the resource materials from different sources and adapt them to the target audiences of the courses on the above-mentioned topics;
  • Participate in the application of active learning methods to understand how certain methodology is applied and how it's linked to the learning objectives and outcomes.  

Qualifications required:


Economy, law, political science, humanities 


English and French

IT Skills

MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook etc.) 

Other Skills

Very good communication skills, capacity to work in an international, multicultural and multilinguistic working environment, well-organized, focused on timely and precise implementation of tasks
